Let the fund raising begin

Well it is September and we just finished our 1st big fund raising event.

The Garage sale was a big success. We raised over 4000.00 for the trip and we are quite happy.

A big, big thank-you to Wendy MacWilliams who was the organizer of the event. There was a big team of workers from Band Kids to Parents, to outside help and Wendy managed them all.

Here are a couple of pictures of the event for your enjoyment.

Keep your eyes opened for the next awesome event.

Stage One Over :-(

Well it is the morning of August 28th and the Grand Falls band is traveling back to the "ROCK". We had a fantastic time over the last week, and we will get some pictures and stories up for people to see, read and remember.

Now it is time to plan for the Edmonton trip to Grand Falls and do some fund raising. We will keep you posted as the time goes along.

Just to let you know Jason Wombold has started a Facebook group called,
"Solid Rock Brass and Edmonton Temple Youth Band Exchange". It is a closed group so you need an invite. If anyone is on face book let Jason know and we can get you an invite.

Hope the group from Grand Falls has a good trip back. Let us know when you get there.

Have a great day (and a good rest)

Shawn

There are a few changes in the Itinerary for the visit of the Grand Falls Band to Edmonton. The main changes are dealing with the trip to Calgary. The concert will now be outside at one of the other Army facilities and we will be going to the Calgary Zoo :-) If any other changes need to be made I will update the blog ASAP.

GRAND FALLS CITADEL YOUTH BAND=SOLID ROCK BRASS

We are now known as SOLID ROCK BRASS. We decided that we needed a name change and chose Solid Rock Brass for two reasons - one, we believe we have a rock solid faith in God and two, we hail from the 'rock' (NL). Hence, the name. We also have a logo which I will post later!!

God Bless,

George Skeard
Bandmaster, Solid Rock Brass
